Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Surveys

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey is based on the emission of electromagnetic waves into the ground and the detection of reflections from objects in the subsurface. From the measured travel-times, the location and depth of these objects can be determined.

With a wide range of GPR experience and the latest GPR technologies, you can be assured that our full-fledged GPR services has ample coverage for all your needs.

Electrical Resistivity Tomography/Imaging (ERT/ERI)

Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) or Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI) technique is based on the measurement of electrical resistivity of the soil layers using a multi-electrode array. Data can be acquired in both 2D and 3D as per the requirements.

It allows both lateral and vertical distribution of the resistivity distribution of soil layers. The geometry of geological and manmade objects can be determined based on these results, using characteristic resistivity contrasts.

Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES)

Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) is an electrical method used for the calculation of resistivity of soil layers assumed to horizontal layers. In VES four electrode resistivity survey set up will be used whereby the current is passed through the two outer electrodes and the resulting potential difference measured across two inner electrodes.

From the electrode spacing, current and potential difference values apparent resistivity of the soil layers will be calculated. Our expertise lies in the following areas:

01

Earthing Design for Substations

02

Cathodic Protection

System

03

Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW)

Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) is a is a type of seismic survey based on the study of surface waves in the ground. The acquisition of MASW allows to obtain two-dimensional shear wave velocity sections.

As this shear wave velocity represents the stiffness of the soil, this technique can be used for mapping of subsurface cavities, rock head profiling, grouting evaluation, etc. widely in Singapore.

Seismic Refraction Tomography (SRT)

Seismic Refraction Tomography records the arrival times of refracted seismic waves from different geological layers. It will help to compute the seismic velocity of different soil/rock units in order to identify them.

Seismic refraction surveys commonly involve laying out a spread of geophones in a straight line, with seismic impact source points positioned with and off the ends of the geophone spread.

Client Testimonials

We are very happy with the GPR survey services provided by CDSE team. The site work and reporting were conducted in timely manner and delivered on budget.

We engaged CDSE for a GPR survey at a site in Jurong Island. The team was very responsive and completed the field works and report within one week of instruction. Many thanks for the service.

I found working with CDSE to be an entirely positive experience. They were easy to contact, quick to respond to queries, more than happy to meet with the client on site, and quick to produce a report. The results of the GPR survey were clearly displayed and accompanied by concise likely interpretations for all major voids identified. I am pleased with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to use CDSE again.

I was extremely happy with the service I received from CDSE and their engineers on a recent GPR survey undertaken for us. From our initial enquiry through to their site work and delivery their response was both prompt and professional. Thank you!
