First, we purchase plans from relevant agencies to obtain a blueprint of the site location – 3 to 4 weeks. Once all the plans are in, our cable location personnel will conduct an area sweep using an underground cable detector to detect and locate existing services. Next, we fulfill the Application and Submission of NCE (Notice of Commencement of Earthworks) and lastly, deliver the cable detection report.

Generally, we will complete the detection work about 4 weeks ( inclusive of 3 weeks required for the 26 services plans procurement ) upon confirmation. Another 2 weeks are required for earthworks commencement submission if NCE( Notice of Commencement of Earthwork ) are applicable. The NCE approval timing varies from agency to agency, usually between 1-4 weeks.

To avoid and minimize damages to electricity cables, it is mandatory to perform cable detection before the commencement of any earthworks. To perform cable detection, our company needs to apply and obtain the necessary cable route information based on the area(s)/scope required by our client. 

This will ensure the highest accuracy possible in locating underground services.
